In current Telecom market after launching of 3G service now people have more facility from their cellular providers. Only the thing that they need is a cell phone having 3G facility. Now 3G cell phones are available from 7000 INR by Top Brands. Now other mobile manufactures are also launching 3G mobile less than the top Brands. But there is a main key feature for any 3G mobile phones whether it’s a WCDMA 3G Mobile Phone or HSPA 3G Mobile Phone.
HSPA stands for High Speed Packet Access and WCDMA stands for Wideband Code Division Multiple Access. If you have a cell Phone having 3G WCDMA capable, you can utilized only upto 384 kbps. But with HSPA capable 3G Cell phones, you can enjoy speed upto 21Mbps. definitely there is no comparison between 384kbps and 21Mbps because speed matters.
HSPA is combination of HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) and HSUPA (High Speed Uplink Packet Access). Which support up to 14 Mbit/s for downlink data and 5.8 Mbit/s for uplink data. Now even there is also an enhanced protocol of it known as HSPA+ (Evolved HSPA). HSPA+ is only launched by T-Mobile USA in this year. With HSPA+ one can get speed up to 42 Mbit/s for downlink data and 11 Mbit/s for uplink data with MIMO (multiple in, multiple out) technologies. In future every provider upgrades their infrastructure from HSPA to HSPA+.
So whenever you will go to buy any 3G handset/USB or PCMCIA Data Card, just check it what protocol it support, WCDMA or HSPA. HSPA is always a wise decision over WCDMA.
